The Kind Grandpa and the Little Sparrow

Long ago, in a peaceful village in Japan, there lived a kind grandpa and his gentle wife. They had a small wooden house near a quiet bamboo forest. Every night, they slept happily, even though they did not have much.

Every morning, Grandpa walked into the bamboo forest to collect firewood. One sunny day, he heard a tiny sound.

“Chirp… chirp…”

Grandpa looked around and found a little sparrow with a hurt wing. The poor bird was stuck between broken bamboo sticks.

“Oh dear,” Grandpa said softly.
He carefully helped the sparrow and wrapped its wing with a clean cloth.

“Don’t worry. You are safe now,” Grandpa smiled.

The little sparrow chirped happily and flew away into the sky.

That night, Grandpa told Grandma about the sparrow.
Grandma nodded and said,
“You have a very kind heart.”

The next morning, something magical happened. Grandpa found a glowing bamboo stick. When he opened it, shiny gold coins fell out!

Day after day, Grandpa found more glowing bamboo. But he never became greedy. He shared food with neighbors and helped people in need.

A greedy man in the village tried to copy Grandpa. He shouted, cut bamboo loudly, and scared the animals. But no magic appeared for him.

The bamboo forest stayed quiet.

Grandpa and Grandma lived happily ever after, teaching children one important lesson.
